Tek Pou church
Tek Pou is located in the Battambang Province at the heart of the major rice producing area of the Cambodia.
Battambang rice is famous for it’s wonderful quality and is in high demand throughout the country. The majority of Cambodians that attend the Tek Pou church and orphan home are rice farmers. Surrounding the orphan home are fields and fields of rice.
Tek Pou is in a region that was heavily mined by both Khmer Rouge and Cambodian forces during more than 27 years preceding peace in 1998. Fortunately, progress is being made in clearing the area. The landmines have left many without limbs, and many more without parents, therefore the high orphan population. Other contributors to the high orphan population are AIDS, disease, and violence.
From 2004 to 2025 we have been raising many orphans and vulnerable children and generally the children in this home typically begin their day with devotions before eating breakfast. Those of school age either attend classes in the morning or in the late
afternoon. after lunch, most of the orphans take naps, play, study, and attend languages classes in the home. Later, they eat a dinner consisting mostly of rice, fish and fresh fruits and vegetables grown on the church grounds. The family finishes each day, gathering for church devotions, setting up their mosquito nets and going to sleep. and they have Sunday Service at 9 AM and Every Friday night at 7 PM they have special devotion and pray. but now we are don’t raise the Orphan or vulnerable children any more because the government want us to do the church, youth and children ministry instead.
