More Than a Meal
This is the part of the newsletter where we talk about the thing that keeps us up at night: feeding our kids. It's always been our greatest financial burden, and it's getting harder. During this global crisis, inflation continues to climb day by day. The cost of rice, vegetables, protein — all the basics — keeps going up. Many of our FCOP children depend entirely on the support we receive to have enough to eat, stay healthy, and keep going to school.
For kids to develop mentally and physically, they need real nutrition — protein and vitamin supplements on top of their daily rice. That's a constant struggle when you're feeding 850-plus children across 32 homes scattered around the country.
Which is why we are so deeply grateful to Lou Binninger and Bill Meyer. Through their incredible generosity and connections, our kids received three full shipping containers of nutritional meal packs — approximately 38 tons from 4Life Fortify and 18 tons of Manna Packs from Feed My Starving Children. These arrived right when they were needed most. If you know anything about the logistics of getting 56 tons of food across the Pacific and distributed to rural church homes on Cambodian roads, you know this is no small miracle.
These meals are more than just food. They're a lifeline. They bring nourishment, strength, and encouragement to our children — a reminder that they are loved and not forgotten. If you've ever wondered whether your giving makes a real difference, this is it: a child who can concentrate in school because they had a proper meal that morning.
From all of us at FCOP, especially the children — thank you for standing with us during this challenging time. We continue to pray that God will bless you abundantly for your generous hearts.
